Jodiba Biography
Jodiba, a young Ghanaian rising force with intelligent musicality and haunting vocals in afrobeat and afropop, is a singer, rapper and songwriter one cannot wait to hear from. Born Joseph Dickson Bassaw on 11 March 1998 to a Bassaw family in Moree, Central Region of Ghana, Jodiba places fifth in a family of six siblings.
Jodiba’s journey as a musician started in his early school days at Kwegyir Aggrey Senior High School at Anomabu in the Central Region of Ghana when he joined a group known as 5000 Ones. He honed his skills as a rapper by entering school rap competitions, claiming many victories. While at Kwegyir Aggrey Senior High School, the 5000 Ones performed at several places in the Central Region of Ghana including Moree, Cape-Coast and Anomabu but 5000 Ones died off after completion of his senior high school education. Jodiba continued his education at Takoradi Technical University (TTU), where he obtained HND in Purchasing and Supply.
Basking in the glory of his vivacious, danceable debut single track titled Ayeeba that undeniably hitting the Ghanaian airwaves on the popularity, Jodiba comes into the entertainment field with a popular catchphrase ‘Ayah’ which he always mentions in his songs. Jodiba believes ‘Ayah’ is a sound that reminds him of God’s greatness and power to raise him higher. “Ayah” has been largely received and accepted by his fans.
